University Archives September 26 Auction is open for bidding. 225 rare and historic lots including 2 George Washington signed letters, a very early 1745 Benjamin Franklin autograph letter signed, a Thomas Jefferson autograph letter signed, and a Teddy Roosevelt autographed printed speech with the most famous Presidential quote ever, “Speak softly and carry a big stick.”
There’s George W. Bush’s remarkable handwritten draft of the personal letter he left for Barack Obama on the day Obama was inaugurated. An Apollo XI Insurance Cover signed by Armstrong, Collins and Aldrin. One of the first letters by Marilyn Monroe signed as Marilyn Monroe.
Davy Crockett, Stonewall Jackson, Horatio Nelson, Malcom X, Harry Houdini, Robert E. Lee, Robert F. Kennedy. These are just a few of the 225 historic lots up for bid.
University Archives is very careful about authenticity. UA’s president, John Reznikoff, is a historical authentication consultant to PSA/DNA, JSA and leading auction houses. University Archives’ buyer’s premiums are lower than many auction houses, and they don’t charge extra for credit cards.
